Register of Deeds Fees
The Kingsbury County Register of Deeds office records and preserves documents that affect real property ownership and other official public records. Recording fees are established by South Dakota law and apply to documents submitted for filing with the Register of Deeds.
The fee schedule below outlines the current charges for recording deeds, mortgages, liens, plats, easements, and other eligible documents. • All documents over 50 pages: Recording fee plus $2.00 for each additional page over 50 pages. • Documents must comply with South Dakota document format standards (SDCL 43-28-23). |

County Procedures for E-recording
- Electronic recordings will be received between the hours of 8:00 am and 2:00 pm Central Standard time. E-packages may be submitted at any time, however, they will not be recorded outside of posted hours.
- Only Electronic Models 2 and 3 will be accepted (visit pria.us for additional information.)
- Documents must be original and scanned in black and white with a minimum of 300 dpi.
- Images must be sent in TIFF.
- Electronic documents must adhere to all South Dakota Statutes.
- No more than one satisfaction/assignment will be accepted within the same e-recording package.
- Documents will be rejected if not legible.
- Payments of recording fees must be made via ACH by the Delivery Agent (e-recording vendor). Kingsbury County will not acccept payments for recording fees and/or transfer tax directly from the e-recording submitter customer.
- Kingsbury County's current electronic recording providers are Simplifile and CSC.
Kingsbury County Register of Deeds, by communicating with the e-recording - vendor, reserves the right to terminate the right for submitter customers to continue to e-record in Kingsbury County.
- There are no additional fees charged by this county for e-recording, however, a submission fee will be charged by the submitter vendor.
- Plats may not be submitted for e-recording.
